clicking noise

#1 Post by Zweibel » Fri Jan 12, 2007 1:42 pm

I recently upgraded my RAM and therefore had to take off the front covering of my T60. Now I have the "problem" that when I put my hand on the keyboard rest, it makes a funny clicking noise. Is this normal? I didn`t notice it before I installed the memory.
The screws are tight.
Thank you for your help.

The palmrest is attached through plastic tabs. It looks like you did not get one of them back in the right place before pushing it down. Tightening the screws won't help if it is is not fitted right.

The palm rest should snapped back with a click sound. Watch out for that click sound to ensure the thing has been fitted correctly. And follow claudeo suggestion.

I have opened up my T60 for more than 35 times and there is not a single clicking sound produced when i am resting my hand on the palm rest.
