Replacing T43 LCD Bezel

#1 Post by NotoriousCCL » Sat Jan 13, 2007 12:39 pm

Hi I am new to this support community and was wondering if you guys can help me out. I am looking to replace my T43 LCD bezel and I have two questions about this. First, where do you guys recommend me buying the 14in LCD bezel from (preferably new). Second, I downloaded the hardware maintenance manual from the Lenovo site and it says I need to remove the screw caps around my bezel to access the screws and was wondering what is the best way to pry the screw caps open. Thanks for all your help!

The LCD bezel is part of the LCD Cover Kit (FRU #13R2569). The kit costs $50 new from IBM. It is unlikely that you will find a usable "top" that costs less.

The screw covers are decals the thickness of heavy paper, less heavy than a Manila folder, but more rigid. You can use the corner of a razor blade to lift up at any point around the circumference of a cap, and then keep lifting to overcome the adhesive backing that holds the cap in place.
