I'm using a T43 with a dock (Port Replicator II, I believe). The Thinkpad has the SXGA+ (1400x1050) screen, and I'm using an external monitor on the dock's DVI port, at SXGA (1280x1024). When docked, I typically have my desktop extended onto the external monitor. All of these settings are saved in a profile in Presentation Director, and I have the "Immediately apply this display scheme" option enabled in Presentation Director - it is set to the correct profile.
I'm not getting any malfunctions, just an annoyance. It seems that if I shut my computer down while docked, then reboot it un-docked, the screen resolution reverts to 1024x768, and sometimes my desktop icons are all rearranged as if I had chosen "Auto Arrange" in windows. The same thing happens when I shut down the computer un-docked, then boot it up on the dock. If any of this is unclear, let me know.
I have also tried to apply the "My Normal Display Settings" scheme before undocking, disabling the external monitor, but that didn't work. Simply restarting the computer, or shutting down and booting it back up without docking/un-docking works fine.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what's going on, or what I might try? It's pretty annoying to have all of your icons rearranged all the time, and reset the screen resolution...
Thanks,
Kyle
