Dear thinkpads..

Am been thinking and thought i'd stop and post my issue here b4 embarking to the jungle..

After installing xp i manage to load up couple of essentials, display driver, ethernet, wifi, but no modem nor audio was able to install sucessfully, it states in the ibm- driver download page that my OS requires a UUA hotfix which then states in microsoft site that this UUA hotfix is not avail for download, and only available upon request, prob involves $$ i think...

So before i go even more further just to make am on the right track here

Am on XP SP2,

Btw: how do i check what exactly my sound card is.
is not in the ibm site, not from the brochure i got b4 buying,
so am bump...

I manage to get the hotfix,

Patched from a downloaded intel driver for realtech, it contains the hotfix,

then only rerun to install audio and modem,

its all fine now
