just impulse brought one of these (http://www5.pc.ibm.com/ie/products.nsf/ ... enDocument) T60s, cheapest i could find it at was £1150 with an advanced mini-dock, most places i could only find it at that price without the dock so i'm pleased, my wallet isnt but thats a different matter!

on my t42, im using NHC to control fan speeds using a modified t43p acpi file, does an equivalent exist for the t60 to control fan speeds?

this will be my first laptop with a fingerprint reader, how does it work exactly? most of the time it will be docked/lid closed as i'll have it hooked up to my external monitor as its has a better screen res than the laptop so i want to be able to get into my system using my finger or by traditional password, that possible?

i'm not a fan of installing extra "junk" --what happens if the fingerprint reader software isnt installed?

i've read that its possible to have it read you fp at bootup then it automatically log you into windows at the same time, is that standard or does that need additional s/w?

how does that work if i'm hibernated using the fp reader, it wont try and log me out or something weird like that, would it?

edit: any idea if the dvd writer i have is dual layer?
