Power Options issues

#1 Post by alfio » Wed Jan 17, 2007 9:44 am

hello all

of the things i don't like about windows, the one that frustrates me the most is the "Power Options" feature in Control Panel. it seems that even when i create my own 'option' it somehow always reverts to whatever it wants. i tried avoiding using it altogether in favor of the one packaged with my T43 (following Access IBM section to the IBM Power Manager) but found that it too wants make this seemingly simple task all too difficult (it would not, for instance, allow me to create a new "scheme" even though there is clearly an option for doing so!).

is there a thread/page where this is covered? if so, i'd appreciate a nudge in the right direction (i tried searching for could not come up with much that directly addressed my questions)

TIA

Try this, "left" click on the battery in the task bar. You are running Battery MaxiMiser aren't you? You can make custom power schemes from the window that opens up.

i'm not running MaxiMiser. would that over-ride the windows power management completely?

it sounds like your IBM drivers aren't installed correctly?
