hard drive test?

hard drive test?
i feel my hard drive is failing. how can i test it? can i get a new one from lenovo?

Answering your last question first, I would say it all depends upon the warranty of the system and the nature of the problem.
As far as testing the drive, there are several programs floating around the net which can determine if there is a problem (or potential problem) with the drive. What is the make/model of the drive?

I haven't used this particular program. It might wipe out the data on the drive. Read the instructions. You have been warned
. I think the default operation is to perform only read operations, but if there could be a problem with a head crash, then I would say FIRST try to get your important data off of the drive before running diagnostics.
