Sync Files to a Server Folder - HELP!

#1 Post by djpharoah » Fri Jan 19, 2007 4:07 pm

Hi.

At work we need to backup/sync some Auto CAD files from the job site onto a server with only the latest files.

Is there any way to do this? I have tried looking on google but found that I can only enable synchronizing when my collegues log on/off.

Thanks

Thanks for the replies guys and sorry for the late reply.

The previous IT guy in our department seem to have left a few PCs that would sync "My Documents" with the server for their individual users. However since all but 2 of them were replaced this year by me, I dont know how he did it.

It seems to be using windows offline files or something like that. Will definitely take a look at the options that you guys have posted up.

Sync Toy

#5 Post by Kendas » Mon Jan 22, 2007 6:48 pm

The link above to SyncToy from Microsoft is good. SyncToy works just fine... Not automatic but I use it to sync important files from my laptop to the main home computer every night.

And anything else I can stuff in.

Any one else here old enough to have used an IBM 029 Keypunch? :}
