Problems after updating ATI driver using software-updater

I got a T60P with a firegl 5200 and having alot of trouble with the ATI catalyst center after updating the driver with the thinkvantage "software installer". i fixed it before and i will fix it again but i would not suggest this kinda update. Everytime ive updated the ATI driver the catalyst center focks up and wont start. im funned of the ATI Center because it allows me to create 2 profiles i can switch between when gaming and when not gaming, using alt+1/2. A very nice way to increase batterylife when not playing wow and stil very easy to increase graphic performance when i play.

Anyway, when i update the driver the ATI control center wont start and my profiles are there for not available... or gone altogether, exstremly messy. when trying to uninstall the control center my PC freeze at "preparing uninstall bla bla" and if i try to reinstall instead it says it cant do that because some other crap is wrong or gone. ive removed the driver and i will continue to work on this till the center is gone too and then reinstall gfx and center from scratch.

i completely forgot my last experince with the ati driver and software installer and i HATE when the PC makers modify the graphic software. i cant even go pick up the original software on ATI's homepage... :evil:
