PCI resource conflict

#1 Post by jruschme » Mon Jan 22, 2007 8:32 pm

As the signature says, I have two T2x series ThinkPads, a T20 running XP and a T22 running Linux. I also have a 2631 dock which I use with both laptops.

Everything was working fine until I added a PCI USB card to the docking station. Everything still works fine with the T20, but if I try to boot the T22 while docked, I get the following error:

Code: Select all

ERROR
Resource Conflict - PCI
   Bus:00, Device:04, Function:00
and have no choice but to go to Setup.

I assume that this is a PnP problem, but I can't seem to find any setting in setup which might help me clear the error. Other than the hidden differences between a T20 and T22, the only obvious difference is that the T20 has a Xircom modem/LAN mini-PCI card while the T22 has the 3Com one.

Anybody have any advice?

Thanks...

I have the same problem with a standard T20 with nothing plugged into PCI slot in the dock. Two other machines work fine in the dock but this one throws up the error. I have loaded defaults in BIOS but is will not boot in the dock and comes up with the same conflict.
Any ideas welcome

This might work

When I put in the modem on my saved t-23 it gave me the pci error.

Go into the bios, look for the pci assignment menu, set them all to "automatic" save and reboot.

That's what worked for me, as usual, your results may vary.
