Trackpoint Resists Movement

Sometimes there seems to be a lot of resistance in the trackpoint on my T42p. My problem is that when I move the trackpoint it does not always want to move easily in the direction I'm trying to move it. This only happens 5% or so of the times I use it and during this 5% it feels like there is some resistance. Am I imagining this or has anyone else experienced this problem?
