vista 64bit on core duo, a problem?

I think with 64bit CPUs (not mine) and 64bit supported programs one might as well get a 64 bit vista. if nothing else i wont have to upgrade later for whatever reason should appear in the future.

is it a problem to install vista 64bit on a core duo (32bit) ?

if it works, will i need 64bit programs or 32bit?

Your system (and all other Core Duo systems) will be unable to run 64-bit Vista.

If you can upgrade the CPU to a Core 2 Duo, you would be able run 64-bit Vista -- which does run both 32-bit and 64-bit apps.
