TP 600x with cracked screen/missing keys is it worth buying?

You need to tell us what parts are included, e.g. memory sticks, processor, HDD, HDD caddy, etc. Do you know if these parts are still functional? Also, how are you going to use this broken 600, e.g. are you replacing the parts of your 600E with parts from the 600X or vice versa?

about specs.

well i wanted to play with the components and probably swap in a p3 and memory from the broken machine to the 600e. what do you think?

i think the screen is beyond repair, and those tube gases are not safe, right?

if aside frm keyboard and screen, the 600x is OK, those very
components can be taken from yr 600e for the faster machine
the way up and the way down are the same (heraclitus)

Exactly! Put the 600X case bottom and main board on the 600E... or rather the 600E top case/screen/keyboard on the the 600X bottom. There should be some posts on upgrading a 600E to 600X on here.

Hey! That what I'm trying to do! Do you know anyone with the bottom of a 600X by chance that are willing to sell it?

I'm afraid not. You'll have to check E-bay, and maybe some other used computer places. You should be able to score a good deal on a stripped 600X -- one with no memory (except the built in), battery, hard drive/caddy/door, or CD drive. I've seen a number of low cost laptops on e-bay advertised as "working" only to find they've been stripped of resaleable parts. But you get a motherboard, keyboard, and screen. They usually show a screen booted up with the BIOS settings on it to prove it's in working order.
