Strange Rescue and Recovery popup on login.

#1 Post by stephanpark » Wed Jan 24, 2007 5:21 pm

Hi y'all.
I searched high and low on the forums but it looks like I'll have to throw this bone to the big dogs.

A Rescue and Recovery pop up message with no message and just a Question mark icon shows up quite randomly when coming back from standby. There are "YES" and "NO" buttons that I don't dare press because I haven't a clue what the question is. I press the little "x" on the message box and continue to log in. Now, I've killed Rescue and Recovery in favor of another. Is this a Tell Tale Heart beat?

Rescue and Recovery Blank Message box

#2 Post by coolhand400 » Fri Apr 04, 2008 9:30 am

I am having a similar problem with R&R version 3. I am planning to upgrade to version 4, but need to find a way to get rid of this blank message box for the time being. (I support 1000 laptops and it take a little planning to get the upgrade complete)
Any one know of a quick fix to not have this message show up?

I think, R&R schedules to make a backup weekly. If after awakening from stand-by or hibernation, R&R finds the latest scheduled backup missing, it "asks" user whether to perform the planned backup or not.

This a flaw in the Rescue and Recovery program and yes, the yes/no box is asking you if you want to take a backup. The next version of Rescue and Recovery is suppose to fix this issue.
