AC Adapter recall for i Series, 390, & 240 Series

#1 Post by AlphaGJohn » Mon Sep 13, 2004 9:55 am

Hi Folks,

Just happened upon this on IBM's site. It looks like it was posted just last week.

Some of the AC adapters (P/N 02K6549) supplied with these laptops have overheated enough to melt the plastic housing and scorch the internals.

Here's the IBM link:

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site. ... PAD-RECALL

They'll send you a new one and you return yours to them. In the mean time, they ask that you not leave it plugged in unattended.

I've got one of the adapters in question and I've never had a problem with it overheating, but I'm gonna get them to send me a new one anyway.
