Intel B/G Card, Windows and Access Connections Weirdness

#1 Post by Temetka » Fri Jan 26, 2007 11:11 pm

I just upgraded my T41P from the Intel b card it shipped with to an Intel B/G card. I am typing this post from it. Windows sees the card fine, and it works great. However when I hit fn + f5 it says the wireless radio is off, so I tell it to turn it on (even though I know it is). Then it says it can't, and that I need to update the driver. Access connections doesn't see it either. Yet I am typing this post from my living room over the card.

How do I update Access connections and the IBM software to work with my card?

According to device manager, it's a Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 2200BG Network Connection.

Thanks in advance.

Wait.

I may have found the driver I need?

Is this it?

Thanks.

First off, you should unload Access Connection, then unload any and all Intel network drivers, then reboot your systesm.

Then reload the current versions of Intel wired NIC driver (if needed), the Intel 2200BG driver, then Access Connections.

Let us know if your are still having problems after that.

Cheers,

Bill

Unload as in uninstall and NOT just killing the process?
