Sound of a bad drive?

#1 Post by stephanpark » Fri Jan 26, 2007 11:52 pm

Sorry about the free file share, this forum doesn't have its own file hosting.

Ultrashare's ads are fairly tame so I used them to share this.

This is the sound of a DVD that isn't perfectly balanced. It happens to be Goddard's Masculine Feminine.

This is the sound of XP SP2 disc from Microsoft themselves. Disc is a bit larger...and I mean micrometer larger. The mic was amped a bit but the scraping sound is fairly accurate, insert and eject though are a bit exaggerated. You can here the brief moment when the disc hit cruise speed that it make no noise at all.

I hope to exchange the drive soon.
