2L Coca-Cola Bottle + T41p = Sticky Keys

#1 Post by Dead1nside » Sun Jan 28, 2007 8:48 am

Ok, so the title exaggerates a bit. Trying to pick up a 2L coke bottle with one hand, having it slip out, bang on the floor, erupt and spray coca-cola all over my person as well as my room and subsequently my laptop was not fun.

Miraculously only one key is sticking but it's really, really annoying. It's my Down Arrow. What would be the best way to alleviate this problem? Can I peel the key off and clean underneath or do I have to remove my whole keyboard?

Thanks in advance.

You can remove the keyboard and clean under the key with alcohol and a q-tip, i am sure it will remove the sugar.

I don't think you need to remove the keyboard, just the key.

Can they be peeled off and pressed back on safely, without damaging them. Or is the key fixed.

Yes they can. Pull it up from its bottom edge, and it will pop out.

Problem solved, thanks. Didn't want to be too hasty in pulling the keys off. Thank-you.
