'The device cannot start. (Code 10)' - miniPCI wifi

#1 Post by Xenomorph » Sun Jan 28, 2007 4:56 pm

ThinkPad T23

IBM 802.11b WiFi MiniPCI card

it was acting funny, and now Device Manager just says "The device cannot start. (Code 10).

if i power down, remove and re-insert, then power back on, its seen by the computer, but i still cant use it. it scans and finds no networks.

could that mean the card is dying?

you could try a different driver, or reinstalling windows to check if there is some kind of software error.

i havent been able to locate another version of the driver.

edit:

i spoke too soon. i just needed to search for more generic drivers.

http://www.actiontec.com/support/wirele ... /soft.html

the IBM 802.11b MiniPCI card in the ThinkPad T23 works with the Actiontec USB 802.11b drivers.

i've been able to locate and install the generic Actiontec drivers from Jan 2003 and Jan 2002. both those worked when the official IBM ones didnt install.
