z60t screen problem

#1 Post by bostonguy » Tue Jan 30, 2007 7:44 pm

I have a 2511-E7U z60t, I was wondering if anyone has had problems with the display similar to mine.

My screen flickers, im not sure how else to describe it other than a flicker or a glitch in the screen, but it happens very quickly. Also the screen will sometimes turn either completely white or a purple color. It doesnt go away until i restart the computer however, the laptop is still running fine when this happens (the last time it happened i was talking on aim, and wrote a message to the person who told me they did in fact get it, even though my screen was all purple.

Heres the best part, I have sent it in twice to have this problem fixed, and it still happens. They have replaced the planar card both times, im not sure what that card is but it either must not be where the problem is or something else in my machine is defective.

I plan on asking Lenovo to replace my laptop with a new one when i call next week, has anyone had any luck requesting a replacement due to inability to repair a problem? Im not trying to scam lenovo, but the screen is not the only major problem this machine has had, and it has had other things replaced on it, i really think i got a lemon.

Thanks in advance for any responses/assistance you can provide

I had similar problems with the black out. Mine would completely randomly go black or green. They updated the bios and display drivers. Been good so far, but I won't guarantee that its fixed though, because it was such a random and infrequent thing.

Fixed the lid closing/reopening resolution change and desktop picture loss though!
