T60 Test Programs

#1 Post by liliggyracin » Wed Jan 31, 2007 12:35 pm

Have a user that brought his laptop in and says it locks up. he said it wasnt anything in particular he was doing and it seemed to do it when it felt like it. Is there software that I can use to test hard-drive CPU memory etc etc. Basically something that will use the hell out of the machine to see if I can get it to lock up again? I have had it for a day now and cant recreate it even with 50 plus programs running :P(I did that to try to get it to lock-up) I am wondering if maybe my EU is crazy or something.

Thanks in advance

Curtis

Use prime95 to stress the CPU and 3DMark for the GPU. Test the memory with Memtest86+.
If PC Doctor is not installed on the system, you can find it here (check these discussions before installing PC Doctor: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=32675 and http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=36006).

IBM TP T41p (1.7G/1GB/100GB-7k100/DVD-CDRW/SXGA+/BT)
IBM TP T22 (900/512/40/DVD/CDRW/14")
IBM TP A31 (1.8GHz/512MB/40GB/DVD-CDRW/15" SXGA)

Thanks. It ended up when I stress tested the CPU it would fail and lock the computer. I have since called IBM and am getting it replaced. I appreciate it!!

Thanks!!
