VERY Frustrated

#1 Post by jordi32 » Tue Sep 14, 2004 7:05 pm

Today I have just received my third thinkpad t42 but it has a big dead/stiuck pixel very near the center of the screen, like the previous two that I already returned. Needless to say I am extremely frustrated and I don't know what to do. Should I try to get another exchange? This latest Thnkpad T42 also has some cracking sound problems especially in the left click button.

Thank you for your advice.

Jordi

For people who really care about pixels, the easiest thing to to is to buy from Bill Morrow (owner of this site) and pay a small extra fee for a perfect screen guarantee.

The same suggestion has been repeated over and over ...

Can someone let me know about Bill's return policy?

Thank you.

I think you'll have to email Bill for the official Thinkpads.com return policy.

I know that Bill will, upon request (and about $100), cherry pick for you a ThinkPad with a perfect screen.

I think it's worth the extra cost, considering Bill already heavily discounts his machines - even with the dead/stuck pixel check you'll pay less than IBM direct, and you can be certain of having a defect free screen.

Wow, that's frustrating - and very bad luck. The probability of getting three machines in a row with stuck pixels is almost zero! Sounds like IBM might have a bad batch of LCDs. Send it back and get a different screen (if you have been ordering the 14:, get a 15" :D )
