When docking X60 Ultrabase...

#1 Post by dclee012 » Thu Feb 01, 2007 7:14 pm

To dock/undock the Ultrabase...

Is it basically the same thing as plugging in a flash drive and having to eject it to safely remove it?

Or, is there a separate Hardware Profile created? If this is the case, does it work well? Because I know in T4x, there is no such thing when docked in a MiniDock.

Thanks,
-D

The ultrabase is an "intelligent" device with its own pnp id, so there is a docked profile created. In my experience, you can hot undock w/o stopping any devices, but the better way to go is to push the little grey button on the left side of the ultrabase. The little red circle-slash light will go off and another green triangle will light up when it has stopped all the necessary devices. That's probably the "supported" method...

Thanks for the tip mephie.

Do you know if this works in Win2k?

If I try to hot undock, the thing beeps at me until I either plug it back in or reboot.
