Okay, since nobody has asked the obvious question...

It does not appear to have been said already, so....

So is that the T21 or one of the 13 T23s in the background?

Daily driver T23 2647-HNU. The latest T21 (#3) that came in two weeks ago seems to be working fine (despite what the eBay seller said). I'm probably going to transplant the LCD into one of the T23s later.

Ray, love that shirt; what we need to see is a harem shot, with them all lined up like the Rockettes!

Let step in as a former T23 owner:

They are like Timex's. My T23 survived college, a smoke filled car on a daily basis, my kids and being dropped. It was a wonderful machine and it still looked good. I regret selling it.

Sure all T series are fine machines, but the T23 seemed to be that one model where (IMO) everything came together in that one machine to form something that was, well, singular. Almost zen like.

Sorry ray, didn't mean to steal your thunder. It's just that I have such fond memories of my T23.

Great to hear that Temetka. I sometimes wish I had got a 14" thinkpad instead of my X31 (from ebay). I just love the size and the weight, and use it for many many more things than I thought I would, because of which I wish I had a faster machine  ... I'd love to get a 14" T41 someday. I know, I know ... I should not be so greedy when I am impecunious

No problem. I had PMed gator and basically said the same thing. They are easy to work on and quite capable of handling most of today's needs. As I said in my PM, the only thing I miss is USB 2.0 and wish it could transcode videos a little faster.

Actually, I just had that idea this afternoon... I've been busy cleaning off my storage area for TP equipment that has accumulated in the last couple of months. I've been using the bed that's in my home office to "store" my "stuff". I'm sure you know what I mean :) .

My wife has a plan on putting this bed (top part to a bunk bed that my girls used to use) back onto the bottom bed that's currently being used by the daugther that has not left the nest yet, taking a picture and putting it up on craigslist. She wants to sell the two pieces and then buy my daughter another bed. She also said that I could then put in a spare utility table we have in the garage and use that as a work bench.

As I was cleaning, I envisioned this 6 foot table with all of the laptops in my inventory (not being used), lined up back against the wall. A board or rack with movable dowels or dividers could hold the 21 or so systems upright, sitting on the front edge, on top of a piece of high density foam. I'm currently storing them this way under a desk on a carpeted floor so I can easily move the DC power cord around and keep the batteries charged. If I do get around to doing this, I'll post a picture in the Desktop area.

LOL, I'm going to risk it here and say that if men were neater in "storing their stuff", you would get more areas to do so. But after seeing our demented garage (which is my DH's Stuff Storage Area) I now know why he only gets the garage. Looking forward to seeing that photo Ray, it will definitely be one of a kind.

Ray,

your idea of storing your TP's is great. I have a couple of older powerbooks (1400c, 5300ce) that just sit on my desk stacked up.

Cool stuff man. I just subscribed, name on youtube is PJTocci. I play drums since 1994! (I was 13 at the time.)

When I was 15 my band opened up for Dropkick Murphy's. Our singer was 13 at the time.
