Track point issues

#2 Post by T.A.SRINIVAS » Wed Sep 12, 2007 12:51 am

Dear Friend

Track point feature is not related with operating system. In the system BIOS (Easy Set Up) the track point feature has to be enabled. There is a possibility of loose connection with the track point cable or the respective cable connector may be bad which requires a replacement/repair.

The above may please be checked.

A bad TrackPoint should show an 8611 error or something similar at startup. The TrackPoint can also be disabled (and re-enabled) using ThinkPad Configuration, and you can disable the device in the Windows Device Manager. Check both of those.
