Video memory for ATI 5250

Just got my T60P from ebay. when i check the video card information, i found the video memory is 512 MB instead of 256 MB. The specific information:
ATI MOBILITY FireGL v5250 (ox71D4)
Internal DAC (400MHZ)
512MB

A friend of mine says its because of the dual core cpu, i am not that convinced. Anyone knows anything about this?

The extra 256mb of memory is virtual memory taken from your computer's RAM. Look at this thread for more discussion:
