ThinkPad Power Management Driver 1.41
ThinkPad Power Manager 1.14
Has anyone else noticed a problem with the latest Power Manager updates for Win XP. I downloaded and installed the most recent driver set from the product matrix yesterday for my Z61p, now I can no longer enter StandBy or Hibernate. Or to be more precise, Fn-F4 does not cause the computer to immediately Standby, likewise Fn-F12 appears to do nothing at all. However, some time later if I shutdown or reboot, it does cause the last requested standby or hibernate to happen. eg. Fn-F12 - nothing, 5 mins later, Start -> Shutdown -> Shutdown and the machine hibernates, instead of shutting down. When resuming, the machine does resume from hibernate but rather than showing the login prompt, it then shuts down. All very strange.
I should also mention that I also updated bios to V2.14, Productivty Centre to V2.0, Client Security V8.0, and Rescue and Recovery to V4.0.
