Sorry, if I use this thread for my question.
I have a TP 760XD and the cooling fan is very loud. Is it possible to replace the fan, with a better model (e.g. 765D)? Or what can I do?
Thank you for your help
Harald

RE:loud fans
If you know how to do it, they are the same voltage, and the new one will fit you shouldn't have any problem. However, it is not usually the easiest task to replace fans. Have you tried cleaning it out with can-air and WD-40, and checking for obstructions (such as cords that might fall into the fan when the laptop is together and moved)? It also might just be your fan. Try to find out if they are usually loud in that laptop model and if just replacing it with a newer version of the same thing would help.
Hope this helps, let me know how it turns out!

The fan has FRU 46H5762. Same fan is used in 760XL and 765D/L. So I will check the fan in one of these Thinkpads.
