VISTA Ultimate
Looks like Lenovo only offers Home Premium or Business. Is there any upgrade path to Ultimate?

That's an upgrade from XP to Vista. $250. Ultimate is only $100 more than Business. It appears there are no intra-VISTA upgrades.

I think there is start menu item in Vista that leads you to an upgrade site, so you could upgrade to a higher version of Vista. The idea was that on the Vista DVD, all versions are on it and you just needed the right product codes to unlock them.
