VISTA ULTIMATE ON T41

#1 Post by DaveMackenzie » Tue Feb 06, 2007 9:57 am

Hi folks, I installed vista the other day on my T41 100gb 5400rpm hdd, 1gig ram, ati 9000, super multi burner (uj842) and the install process was faster than installing xp, all of the drivers except the wireless and intel pro card were found, so i then went onto ibm for the vista software, access connections etc. Now i have a problem, i cannot turn on wireless through access connections, i can only turn off the wireless by going into device manager and turning radio off, has anyone else had this problem? also access connections was terrible, i could create a profile but it wouldnt connect, so i used the windows interface instead and now all is fine with the wireless as long as i use the windows gui, but i always liked access connections because i could turn devices off at the click of a button. Does anyone else know of this problem and if there is any way to resolve it?

Did you install the Lenovo System Interface Driver for your machine?

Did you install all of the required components from the installation instructions posted at:

ThinkVantage Access Connections for Windows Vista

If you have then I'm not sure since I haven't tried Access Connections yet. My first install of Vista was before release (mid-January) and Lenovo didn't have all of their software finalized at that point.

This does not work because Lenovo does not provide a Vista-driver for the Thinkpad a/b/g-adapter. The driver on the website only supports Thinkpad a/b/g II and newer. And you need this driver because is has the fn-f5-feature
