Which external mouse do you use?
To all of you who use an external mouse at home or away, do you use any particular mouse?
Personally, I've been buying nothing but Logitech for years. I use an MX Revolution at home and a V400 while away. Both great mice, but I love the shape of the MX-r. It reminds me of this old IBM mouse I had a few years back (which for some reason stopped working and I couldnt find another one). If youre in the market for a new (not so portable) mouse, bite the bullet and get the MX-r (I paid $80 on newegg).

I am not picky about external mice; anything with a scroll wheel is good. I happen to be using tiny mice both at home and at work. The one at home is a Kensington PocketMouse. The one at work is a cordless one that's even smaller but I don't remember what brand it is. I got both for free, and would never spend $80 on a mouse! (Would rather spend that money on a new hard drive or memory stick!)

Ditto...depending on where I am in the house, I'll use either my Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse or my Labtec wireless one. And out of the house it's the Microsoft one...it's simple and does exactly what I need it to do and cost me hardly anything...only about 10 bucks a year or 2 ago.pianowizard wrote:I am not picky about external mice; anything with a scroll wheel is good.

I am a money saver. I do not like to upgrade my handphone or use a high tech mouse. Would save money up to upgrade my thinkpads.
I have been using the IBM mouse for many years already.
My handphone is the Samsung R220 (Old phone!). Don\'t laugh at me. As long as i can make calls and sms, i am ok with it.

Any USB/optical/wheel mouse OK
Any USB/optical/wheel mouse is OK by me.
We use cordless mice at work, and the rechargeable batteries are pretty much shot, and they just aren't worth the bother (in that environment, anyway).

Currently I use the MS Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000.
I'm not hugely impressed though, it does not work very well on dark surfaces, and is also much less responsive than optical mice.
My daughter uses an MS Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000.
I find that one much nicer and it works better on more surfaces.
Both those MS mice do have rather clunky USB-adapters.
From trying them out in a shop, I think I'll go for a Logitech V450 Laser Cordless Mouse next.

All the Logi's I've owned recently have had very small recievers, even the full desktop ones like the MX Rev. My notebook mouse, the V400, even has a place to stow it inside the mouse itself.mikey pizano wrote:There is a very nice Logitech mouse that has a VERY small reciever. I had a creative 5500 and a Pleomax mouse, both wired.
My mom had a microsoft mouse which gave up working so she tried out my creative, which she liked. I then bought myself a wired mighty mouse (which I first wanted to return immediately but I got used to it and now I really like it).

I've been using a Targus Scroller Mini-Mouse since 2001. Works great 99% of the time and the other 1%, I just clean it and it works great again.

For carrying around with my laptop, I use a Microsoft Notebook Optical Mouse 4000:
http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/mouse ... px?pid=045
It's a bit small but it's optical senor is very sensitive, the wheel moves easily enough to be comfortable but not enough to cause problems and the shape makes the mouse comfortable to use.
For my desktop, I use a Logitech Trackman Wheel:
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ ... ENTID=5002
It's very comfortable for me even after periods of prolonged use and it's precise enough for all of my Photoshop tasks.

I use the thinkpad travel mouse. Got it on a deal, and it is awesome. Great match if you have a thinkpad (I can't avoid the addcition for that black finish and the three coloured letters
