I finally flashed the BIOS on my 760ED by wiring some Ni-MH cells into my dead battery.
Now I've got windows 2000 running on a 6.4GB Hitachi hard drive. Everything is working (even Mwave) except for the IDE controller. Nothing I do will get the hard drive out of PIO mode.
In the device manager, there's an I/O conflict at FCF0-FCF7 on the primary IDE controller with the device "standard PC".
DMA mode appears to work fine in Windows 98 (at least the DMA box stays checked).
