Biggest Camera I Ever Saw *pics*

#1 Post by Kyocera » Wed Feb 07, 2007 6:25 pm

I had to set up a network at an old time print shop in Benson, NC and stumbled into a room with this and was pretty amazed! They actually use this to this day to make posters, I asked them if it was truly cost effective to use this thing and the guy that runs it said no, but the quality is unmatched with any of the newer equipment they have. I'm 6'2" tall so you can see this is quite a large peice of equipment and probably weighs around a ton, (seriously). It rides on something resembling a train track which is about 15' long.

This last image is a shot from inside the dark room where the back of the camera is operated, I have no idea what that hose is for.

Yeah, I've used a camera that large before. My old school had an Itek 430 that we used to shoot page layouts and designs and it'd make a negative with which an offset press plate could be produced on a different machine.

It's all gator's fault, he got me started back up again, actually played a couple times with my old band, the timing was right I guess. :)

Oh yeah, gator is a great player also!
