Z61p external VGA

Hi all, I've finally got my Z61p and I've plugged it into a DELL 24" LCD. On the 24" i get "phasing" problems, regardless of what i have the phase on. I am sure the problem is not the LCD because it works fine wiht my old laptop (compaq 2815au). Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
