question: what's the diff. between 2007-7KG and 2007-7KU?
Dear All,
could someone help me find an answer to what is the difference between the T60 models 2007-7KU and 2007-7KG?
In the TABook I found models only ending with U, but the Lenovo website knows both models (and a couple of other 2007-7K* models), and it does not really show any obvious differences.
Thanks in advance,
Robert

I believe (and I cannot point to any source for this) that the last character is for localization. *U models are sold in the US. I think *G are sold in Germany and may have slightly different hardware, or a different version of Windows installed.
Machine-Project: 750P, 600X, T42, T60, T400, X1 Carbon Touch
I think you are right. It'll most probably localisation. I think while I was looking at some models in Hong Kong, there were models with seemingly identical specs, but different model numbers with only a single character difference and the difference was either a chinese or english version of windows.whizkid wrote:I believe (and I cannot point to any source for this) that the last character is for localization. *U models are sold in the US. In the world of crazy IBM abbreviations, G stands for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) so that is the region that machine is from. Specificiation wise, a U model will be exactly the same as a G model, the only actual difference would be your keyboard, your preload (although Uk one is the same as US) and you will be able to access the extended channels wih your wireless card that the US aren't allowed
Thanks, all.snife wrote:In the world of crazy IBM abbreviations, G stands for EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) so that is the region that machine is from.
