ctrl-F2 keystroke not instantaneous

#1 Post by Aizar » Fri Feb 09, 2007 8:12 pm

I am happy new owner of T60 widescreen (8743CTO -- T7400 cpu, 2GB RAM, 120GB hdd and so on..) and everything looks good.

Except one thing. As a software developer, I spend my days writing, compiling and testing code in Delphi7 environment. One of the most used key combinations there is ctrl-F2, which stands for Program Reset. And strangely enough, that combination takes about two seconds to kick in -- pressing it quickly doesn't have any effect, you have to hold the keys pressed to get a result.

Some may say that this is a small issue -- but if you have to slow down every two minutes to remind yourself why something you have used for years now didn't work (and type the same combination again, holding the keys down), it becomes very irritating.

I did remap that command to ctrl-F10 and everything worked perfectly, no lag, no hesitation.. but again, learning new keystroke? old dogs etc.

I think my next step would be to write a small app to see whether its keyboard driver or something else holding the messages -- but maybe someone here already knows the answer?

I don't know why it is, but yeah I found the same thing when making a photoshop action, so I reassigned it to ctrl-f3. I don't know why f2 is like that.
