Vista Media Player Issue
Vista Media Player Issue
Hello,
I have just finished a clean install of vista, everything seems to be working fine, all the drivers are up to date. I have a x300 64mb card. My problem is that when I play a video file in Vista Media player almost immediately the audio and video become horribly out of sync. To troubleshoot, I have tried switching off all Aero effects and the sidebar, but it does not seem to have an impact. I also tried checking the option drop frames to sync audio option, but still no effect. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks.

Workaround
I have a similar problem with VLC player in Vista as well. I found a work around for VLC by setting the output module to Direct X and setting it to output to full screen on start. Also the video needs to be loaded twice but it works! Still searching for a media player solution.

I had this issue for awhile with a new T60, so the hardware clearly wasn't the problem... For me, upgrading to the newest ATI drivers fixed it for me... Also there is a setting called "use video smoothing" that when checked would end up causing things to go out of sync. Checking drop frames to keep audio and video synchronized may help as well.
