ThinkPad 600 2645 XP OnBoard Sound Drivers?

#1 Post by n1nj4Lo » Sun Feb 11, 2007 12:39 am

My friend refuses to use windows 98se on his thinkpad and thats the model number in the thread title, Is there a way to get the sound working on this or not? He doesn't have a copy of Windows 2000 and we've looked all over IBM's site to not find anything...

The drivers for the Thinkpad 600 sound/audio controller are included in XP: there is no need to download any additional drivers.

If you are unable to get audio working, then you should first check that you have the latest BIOS for the laptop. There are issues specifically with loading the audio driver under XP without the latest BIOS -- and XP will generally not run very well on a plain vanilla Thinkpad 600 without the latest BIOS.
