Question about Ultrabay Enhanced UJDA760

#1 Post by agarza » Mon Feb 12, 2007 12:11 pm

I was wondering if the CD-RW/DVD UJDA760 Ultrabay Enhanced will fit my old A22e:

Could anybody explain what does the term Enhanced means.

Thanks

Apart from the actual technical parts, it simply means that it will interface with other devices. To be specific, 2 other devices; a WorkPad C500/505 (Palm clones) sync cradle or a numeric keypad.
Family Daily Drivers- T430s, T530, X220
Work- Sadly, the ThinkPads have gone away...... and replaced by HP ProDesk SFF drone machines :(
Other Projects- Edge 15, Z61m (Titanium)
Historic Retired ThinkPads- T42p, X20, A31p, 701c, 760XD, WorkPad C505

That drive will fit. You'll need the mounting bracket (shown in the photo). I put a UJ830SX DVD-RW/RAM drive in my A20m (running WinXP), it works fine. Are you running WinXP in your A22?
A20m: Upgraded w/1 ghz processor, 512 MB memory, 60GB HDD; DVD-RW drive; XP

T60: 1.83 ghz processor, 1 GB memory, 100 GB HDD; DVD-RW drive, Intel wireless ABG; XP

What a relief to know it will fit, I will then buy it. My A22e is indeed running XP but as my T30 is being sold, my A22e will lack a optical drive, that's why I'm looking to buy a cheap drive.

Thanks for the info

Where do you find mounting brackets? Can you purchase them without the drive?
