Who prefers Vista?

It's been a few weeks since Vista's public launch, please pass comments about your preference of Vista to XP.

For the moment I prefer XP. Vista is eye-candy OS, but it drains very fast the battery, the fan runs more time than in XP because of the GUI unless you switch back to Classic Interface. For the moment there's no better OS than XP. Maybe a year from now Vista would be more matured and know how to handle and manage the battery power to maximum efficiency. Not to mention is a RAM eater

There is a reason why Vista is a "ram eater"

...it's called SuperFetch. This monitors your usage pattern and preloads programs into RAM so that they start faster. In any case, Task Manager under XP is notoriously unreliable and unusable. It does not give you a real indication of the amount of memory used by programs. Vista handles that information much better.

I prefer Vista....unquestionably better than XP...but each to his own

i much prefer vista, but the only thing stopping me keeping it on my t60 (xp is back on for now) is that notebook hardware control isnt running properly on it yet.

when thats released, its bye bye XP!

I concur. I am begging DAILY for the author to finish his port of NHC to Vista.

Vista is simply a much smoother user experience for me than XP ever was. The OS looks cleaner, and thanks to SuperFetch my programs load faster than on XP.

There are a few programs that refuse to run under any circumstances, but most of them I can deal without or dual boot back to XP until they are ported over.

Has anyone tried running RMClock under Vista? It doesn't provide quite as much control, I think, but it surely would be better than nothing at all ...

Search functions much better under Vista/Office 2007.
My Office 2007 applications load instantly without delay.
Like the newer Aero interface.

Wow, 14 prefer Vista, only 3 prefer XP! Where did all the Vista bashers go?

When all the glitches have been resolved, and when I can afford a state-of-the-art machine, then I will probably prefer Vista. But for right now, for the machines that I currently own and for the software that I need to run (including some pretty old ones), I prefer XP.

I went a long way thru hell with vista but actually after lenovo releasing their final vista drivers i'm back to vista and so far it's a much better user experience than on xp. When i'm sitting in from of my xp machine at work i really miss some of the nice features and eye-candy of vista. It's just when you were moving from win2k to xp.

Even i fell that because of superfetch and all the others technologies in vista my daily apps launch much faster than on xp.

I like the new office, instant search, aero and especially the new media center. As of developer sight it's good to know that .net framework is already there and iis7 has some great improvements than on xp or win2k.

For all my legacy apps i found a way to live with vpc2007. It's not that slow than i thought and you can always start over with a fresh xp when things get screwed up.

I prefer Vista because I want to push out the best from my machine.

The power of grafic is total useless in XP until you play; while I don't play at all, I like to see my grafic processor working at least with Aero.

The new drivers, FingerPrint etc. work fine with Vista; I also like the new font aliasing engine.
The only thing I hate in Vista is its activating mechanism; but I'm sure the issue will be solved very soon.

I wanted to choose XP at the first place. But after two weeks using Vista i change my mind.

Even though many articles said that Vista hardware requirement is though but i think my z61 still capable handling it. There is no delay, some applications actually reload faster than in XP, and of course Aero.

The only thing i [censored] of is that i chose Vista Business. I would rather choose Ultimate. Even Home Premium is better than Business i think because of its on-the-go capability to play DVD without additional codecs, something that Business lacks. The only useful features in Business IMO is domain networking.

And.... i have to say it again, Vista looks much much better than XP... especially with Aero.

And when the Multimedia for Think Offering will be available in Vista?

I will go back to Vista if they release fixes for my hardware like, Stanby and Hibernation. Also a fix for WMP11 so I can play videos on it lol Im pretty sure that Vista has a RAM leak issue.
