Help - EasyBCD preventing BIOS update?

I have Easy BCD 1.5 installed on my dual-booting T42. Unfortunately, I can't seem to update the BIOS - either with the regular updater or the floppy version. I think Easy BCD might be taking control over startup and preventing the BIOS updater from running. Anyone know about this?

I don't see how Easy BCD 1.5 could make any difference with a floppy boot BIOS update. Verify that the floppy drive is first in the boot order in the BIOS setup menu. Also verify that you have allowed the BIOS to be flashed in the BIOS setup. Possibly the floppy should not be write protected. It is also possible that the floppy drive you are using is not supported as bootable by the ThinkPad. Try burning another bootable floppy as a test.
