Phazer, I see you live in Indiana, did you get the bad ice storms that we got? Holy cow, my car was covered with 1" of ice on wednesday then we keep getting snow. Well, my point is I think this is affecting a lot of transmissions. I've noticed the last two days my phone line is creaky and every so often garbled when I'm talking; my DSL I think is dropping every so often, I keep losing my signal wirelessly off an on, although my router signal always show 100%. Weather affects alot, not to mention my aging bones :(

I don't think the *whole* Internet is slow. I certainly had difficulty with US sites on Friday, but not overseas sites and not Canadian sites. So it varies. There was probably a key outage somewhere causing stuff to be consolidated (slow) and re-routed (even slower). ... JD Hurst

That's funny, as soon as I posted this, it seems to have sped up.

Yes, it did seem to be US sites only.

No ice, but plenty of snow, (WOO HOO), still a kid at heart.

Exactly what I saw last night. Downloads from some US sites were at dial-up speeds, but Canadian sites were zippy. I suspect either some interconnects were down, or possibly there were problems at the Front Street exchange (where all the Canadian ISPs connect) in Toronto.

But if Indiana was bad, too, maybe it was on the US side ...
