Optimize for battery lifespan (automatically change for me)

#1 Post by NorthernLights » Sun Feb 18, 2007 5:52 am

Hello,

I have select this option under battery maximizer.

Does this option works for you? I'm always running under AC, and don't know why the battery is always at 100%. Also, it has never notified me that the thresholds have changed.

I was expecting it to set automaticaly to something like 90% or 95%.

If this don't work what are the values of start charge and stop charge assuming that I nearly always use the AC?

By the other way, under battery information it apears an all T60 notebooks that we have a message that tells: "You have connected an incorect CA adapter 90W". Does it also happens to anyone?

Best Regards.

Under battery information mine says:
The battery is in good condition.

90W ac adapter is attached.
I am trying that automatic setting too but only for a few days so far. This article is a good one on the TP power manager and discusses those settings:

Thanks you for the reply.

I will try to call lenovo; I have start thinking that it could be a wrong Spanish translation: "Se ha conectado un adaptador de CA incorrecto 90W. ".

Best Regards.

My battery does not cycle between the prescribed levels of..

My battery info is displayed:

Code: Select all

To increase battery lifespan, you have set your battery to start charging when below 74% and to stop charging at 95%.

90W ac adapter is attached.
It means that the battery doesn't get charged until it drops below 74% even if it is connected to the AC adapter, doesn't it?

But that doesn't happen in my case. It stays at 94% all the time and doesn't cycle between 74% and 95%. What is wrong with mine?

It has to go below 74% before it will charge. Take away the AC and hook it back up when it gets down to 70%, then it should charge to 95%.

Yes, but I can do that manually. I expected something better from this 'intelligent' program.

Not sure what you expected. That's the way it's supposed to work!

I don't believe you. Read it again. The charging is supposed to be done automatically without my intervention. Do you get it?

It won't start charging until it gets below your threshold of 74%. You have to use the battery to get below 74%.
