Help. i cant use uiop keys!
Help. i cant use uiop keys!
i installed a bdmc200 card today, and after i put everything back together it all works except for the u, i,o, and p keys. they simply dont work anymore on my t40 2373-8cu. did i do something wrong or is this keyboard shot? i hope its not anything more then that, ive tried reinstalling drivers, reconnecting the keyboard about 10 times... nothing...

im really hoping its just the keyboard. too bad i jumped the gun on ordering one, i spent $33 shipped for a like new keyboard off ebay. it should be here by friday, so we will see.
im always completely careful about pulling the ribbon off, but when i was inside the laptop to install the bluetooth i decided to take off the LCD bezel to scratch off the led light. man that was a mess, i dont recommend anyone who isnt highly skilled to be taking apart your thinkpad screens, its brutal when things start falling apart without knowing what goes where.
i actually got it all back together, only about 7 screws short (rag carpet is a tiny screw's abyss!).
im just really hoping i didnt tweak the motherboard or use the wrong screw and drove it in too far. the bottom of the keyboard looks fine though.
you say they can be zapped by static? that might make sense, the keyboard was lying on my shag carpet the whole time...
ps- i also did tried a usb keyboard and it works fine....
