Run T42 with Cover Closed?

#1 Post by jschunkew » Sun Sep 19, 2004 10:04 am

Can I run my T42 with the cover closed?
Right now it logs me off after closing the cover.
I'm trying to use an external montor and wireless
keyboard and mouse with the T42 cover
closed and the LCD off.

Um ... try the following first. I haven't seen the log off option though.

Control panel -> Power -> Advanced -> When I close my lid -> select Do Nothing.

If you use the Battery MaxMiser program.
Launch the battery MaxMiser wizard and on the 2nd page
"When I close the lid the computer will" then select the drop down and
select "do nothing".

If you use the windows power profiles.
Go to the control panel and select performance and maintenance
then power options then select the advanced tab.
Under power buttons. "When I close the lid of my portable computer"
select the drop down menu and select "do nothing".

If you start the Laptop with the cover closed, it runs fine. The power properties can remain set to Standby when the lid is closed and does nothing if started in the closed position. ... JDHurst

Silly question, but how does one start the
laptop with the cover closed?
