I bought a 25pk of TDK 4x DVD-R's for $25 from Best Buy, but this week they seemed to have dropped their prices on everything.
They have 4x SONY 50 DVD-R's for $29.99 and 4x Memorex 50 DVD-R's for $39.99. I also searched for 9.4GB Double Sided DVD-R's but they only have them at random online stores and the cheapest I found was $57 for a 25pk (one site used to offer a 50% off deal with ritek9off but it doesn't work).
So should I get the 50pk of Sony's or Memorex? I used to always use Memorex for my CD-R's and they've worked well but Sony is nice too isn't it? I'm looking for the best media to use with my multiburner that will play the best in a regular home DVD player. Thanks!
Sony or Memorex DVD-R's or 9.4gb? Which Should I Get?
The cheapest place to get dvd media is online. But, I don't need them in bulk so I get them at BestBuy. They always have something on sale - just get whichever is cheapest.
I think you will find that if you have a dvd player that wont play a movie you made, that it won't play it no matter which media it is burned on.
I think the biggest difference in media is how long it will last. And I don't think this is very well documented yet. I like the TDK's because they look well made, whatever that means.
Probably the most important thing is your authoring program and burning software (Nero!).

For burning cd's/dvd's I only use Nero.nsuperman86 wrote:Humpa, what programs do you use to burn DVDs? I have DVD Shrink coupled with Nero. Do you only use Nero to do it, or have another buddy program.
I don't do a lot of dvd stuff, but I like DVD Shrink. I use that for backing up some of my dvd's, and I also use it to pull music (or whatever) off of dvd's. You know how there is often good music on a movie, and it is in 5.1? I like to make dvd's with just music in 5.1 and listen to them.
I also use DVD Lab for making/authoring my own movies (from various video formats).
