System Update 3.0/T42P/Vista Fails

I recently installed Vista Ultimate on the T42P, and although it mostly works fine, Lenovo's Sytem Update 3.0 always fails with Error 75. It's unable to retrieve a package from its server. Windows' Firewall is disabled. Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions? Their site indicates that this works with Vista. -- Ken

I am having a similar proble. I just did a clean install on my X60s. Everything is working except System Update 3.

I get an error saying, "error while gathering user information". This happens within the first 10% of the update process.

I wounder what may be causing this.

Interestingly, everything else seems to be working fine.

I always get Error 76. I cannot find any info about this error anywhere.
