I don't think so. The graphics chip does not support any widescreen resolution. It may be possible the a few of the A2x series with the ATi chips might be able to support those resolutions, but I don't know.
I have finally rejoined the dark side.

I have my T30 plugged into a Dell 20" wide screen, can't read the model number but it works OK. No mods, just plugged it in <fn><f7>, done. Firefox resizes OK, looks good.
The dell monitor is black and silver w/USB ports on the side if that helps any.

I alway try to go that extra mile at work, problem is the boss always finds me and brings me back
The video drivers for the T23 has not been updated in many years so you will not find any support for widescreen resolutions. what you will get is 1024x768, 1280x1024 and 1600x1200. what will happen is that your external monitor will end up stretching these to fit your screen. I will run 1600x1200 to drive my Dell 24" which is native 1920x1200.

Install Powerstrip and you can use virtually any resolution up to the max your viseoboard supports.
I use my samsunfg 32" lcd tv as an external monitor sometimes on my t30 to display HD content and it works flawlesly on a native resolution of 1366*768....

I've tried Powerstrip on my T23 but can't seem to get the resolution changed. It doesn't even seem to notice the other monitor, for some reason. I have tried both v2 and v3..
What did you specifically do in Powerstrip that let you change your resolution to what you wanted, or to customize it to what you want?

Install Powerstrip and right-click te icon in your system tray.
Choose "Display Profiles" > "configure".
Select "Advanced timing options" > "custom resolutions"
Slect the desired resolution from the left pane and click "add new resolution"
Reboot and your custom resolution should be available from the default windows resolution selection screen.
HOWEVER........
If the external display isn't available at all and you are unable to get it to work at any resolution, something else is wrong... Pstrip is just able to add 'custom' resolutions, it isn't meant to enable/disable your external display. You could try Ultramon to force that. I've used that one on my dual screen desktop machine at work for years and I like it very much. no guarantees it works with your thinkpad, though.
Good luck!

Yeah...that's the thing. The monitor works fine, but its' 1600x1200 stretched to fit a widescreen. I use Ultramon just fine.
The problem is, Advanced Timing Options is greyed out for me. No way to fix it, it seems. Drat.
Thanks for the quick response though.

I'm running a 19 inch Lenovo widescreen Lcd, and it does look like it stretches it (just a little). Playing a widescreen DVD gave me a few problems, cause it still showed those danged black bars on the top and bottom. I have to stretch the picture to remove them.
Other than that, I haven't had any problems with it.
