Alright, I also own the x51v, may I ask what mapping app you use. I just bought a 4GB Kingston CF card on sale for $19.99 ($50 rebate) at this place: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ ; the last date of the sale is tomorrow.

Currently I have a Nokia 6230, but I'm upgrading my phone plan today and will get a new handset (am juggling between a few different ones that my provider offers) and will offload the 6230 off to my dad.

My current cell phone is a Motorola C139. It isn't much, but it gets the job done. My last cell phone was a Nokia 6010. It got some water damage and is not working properly, the reason why I got the Motorola.
I have finally rejoined the dark side.

thanks for the reply, you answered all my questions; I apologize for pulling off topic.

I'm very lucky to have purchased one of those 4gb cards in time.

long battery life with SE W300i

#37 Post by lophiomys » Sun Feb 25, 2007 6:38 am

I chose the SonyEricssson W300i for its battery lifetime.
It's lasting for one week for my usage pattern, including radio and Walkman :)
Drawbacks are the quite thick form factor, and
the quite limited Organsier functions, f.e. featuring only one single Repeated Alarm.

I ended up picking a Nokia N70 Music Edition when I renewed my phone plan yesterday (didn't know it was that until I got home - the salesperson at my service provider's store said they were out of the regular silver ones). Nice, albeit a bit slow in starting up and not as snappy when navigating as my old 6230. But the 1GB RS-MMC provided with the phone is a very good thing and I will use it for some music listening purposes as well as the simple task of answering phone calls. Still need to transfer some of the content from the 6230 and restore it to factory settings unless my dad wants my retro-added ringtones.

Ok, I admit it..... I'm a mobile phone addict. Here they are:

Cell Phone(s): BlackBerrys 7130, 8100, 8700, 8800 / Moto RAZR V3, RAZR V3xx, SLVR L2 / Samsung Sync / Next..?

My absolute favorite for day to day business is a tie between my BlackBerry 7130c and newly purchased BlackBerry 8800. For the weekends it depends on what I'm doing, the RAZR V3xx is quite fast as it's 3G. The new Yahoo email client works fantastic. Then if I'm out and just want a phone, the Moto L-2 is fantastic. At just 10mm thick, super light and completely flat, no camera, no music, just a great little pocket phone.
Favorites From My ThinkPad Collection

Workstations... T40p ~ T41p ~ T42p ~ T43p ~ T60p ~ T61p ~ W500 ~ W510

I see your addiction and raise you an obsession.
:D
I probably couldn't successfully list half the phones I've owned total. I change phones a minimum of once a month, mainly because I get bored and want something new. I have an affinity for Symbian smartphones, although Windows Mobile has come a long way.

To the person who owns an E62, I feel your pain. I wanted to pitch mine out the window too. Slow doesn't even begin to describe it. I'm using an E61 right now, and there's a world of difference.

I could ramble for days about different phones and the good/bad/worse on them.

Name any GSM phone in the last 3 years and I've probably owned it.

My Nokia E50 arrives tomorrow. We'll see how long I keep this one...

I had RAZR since they first released. Hate it a lot; because it is slow, but I'm not a cell phone addict to just move to another model. I'd just wait whether till it dies or the next actually good cell phone comes along [haven't see one yet] - and I mean just a cell phone.

Razr2 will be released soon. If reviews will praise it, I will likely upgrade in a half a year after release; but again, I'm not deserate to put Profit Margin $$$ in any cell phone company hands.

BTW, my personal opinion is that cell phones, are bad and will cause cancer. So I use it as rare as possible. It just makes a lot of sense, that such a profitable industry will kill any attempt to violate Status Quo.

Hi guys,

My phone is a motorola MS400 (called the mini moto for a good reason)

http://cellphones.engadget.com/2005/03/ ... tia-ms400/
(you can click details for spec)

i bought this while i was stationed in shanghai. it was my roaming phone(personal) next to my nokia(business). my objective was to find the smallest phone avail. at the time (about 2 years ago) b/c i needed to carry both phones...

I don't think this was sold anywhere else but Korea.

the reception's great and REALLY sturdy (dropped on concrete more than i'd like to remember)

it dubs as my mp3 player as it has an external t-flash slot for mp3 files...

the only thing i hate about this phone is that it's very hard to navigate b/c of the key size.

my next phone (when this one dies) will be something smaller :)

I held out on getting a phone for a long time (2003 I think). But women don't allow me to NOT have one.

I currently have a Sony M600i. I love the phone. I have Smartcom Navigator loaded and a 1G flash card.

Just picked up my new LG VX8700, phone is great so far. The main screen looks amazing and w/ a 2.0 mp camera it takes pretty nice pictures. Its a lil quirky right now getting use to LG's when ive used motorola for so long but its still a nice phone. Gets good reception though, ive had no signal issues with it at all. Sturdy hinge, loud speaker inside the handset, but ringer volume is sort of low and im sure speakerphone is a tad quiet as well.

I am one of those creatures  who has never owned a cellphone till date, and won't be getting one for the next few years. I have no need for one, since I have a (common) phone at my lab and a Packet8 VOIP phone at home . Best features is: free US calls, mobile or landline, any network, 24*7*365 - at just $20 a month ... of course you need an internet connection. International calls are cheap too, I save some $$s calling abck home. Bad part: sometimes there is a delay in hearing the voice on the other side due to a bad internet conenction.

I kinda get scared  when someone hands me a cellphone for me to talk into, I can't imagine carrying one with me all the time. I think it is something you just get used to.

Just replaced my Motorola V120c a couple of weeks ago. Now have a Sony/Ericsson W810i. What sold me on it is a strange feature, but one that I haven't seen yet on another cell.

It has a built-in FM radio that provides RDS (Radio Data System) information. This is being used in many areas now to transmit song artist and title. Very useful when you are listening to the FM radio and waiting for the "artist of the day" to come around for a contest :) .

Being a Sony, it's also a Walkman. A Memory Stick Duo stores your .MP3 files. There is also a 2-megapixel camera with two white LEDs to light up your subject in dim light. Has all of the normal extras like a calendar, alarm clock, timer, stopwatch, calculator, web browser, bluetooth, infrared port, video camera (1 minute clips), SMS, downloadable games, sound recorder, etc.

Oh yeah, you can make phone calls with it too :) .

Yes, and for enormous amounts of $$$! Always drew stares from the common folk.

I replaced it with an AudioVox 2 watt bag phone that was much more flexible and, with four times the output of the DynaTAC, allowed you to actually connect and speak to someone.

I've got several multi-readers, as well as digital frames, that can read them so I guess the answer is yes.

Ooooh, that phone is quite the beast! My father bought a Nokia 3315, nicknamed ' The brick' (poor Nokia, the dynatac was a bigger 'brick') a while back, the first cell phone in my family (we din't need one, we had a landline) and that is the only phone that I have seen upclose.

Always carrying a cellphone is very handy but it's some kind of control as one can call you any time. (unless you carry it turned off and turn it on to make a call)

You don't have to answer. You can just check the caller ID, cancel the ringer and let it go to voice mail. Then later tell the caller you were in an area with no service.
