Its a slow card and the rebate is mail-in.
Newegg has 4GB Transcend CF cards from $28 every day (not sure the speed), but no rebates or anything
My next card will be this 120x 8GB CF card for $84

$31.99, I think:

Same speed as the Kingston above (and 6 MB/s is not so horrible) so I think $19.99 is still a very good price.

Well I have a 1GB SanDisk Ultra II SD card for my digital camera which also has video, and it definitely writes video faster than a regular SD card. But I have used the Ultra II card and also a regular 2GB SanDisk SD card in my Axim and I really can't see any difference when transfering info to either card from my PC to my Axim or accessing that info from either cards. I guess if you want to write big movie files from your PC to the card, speed might matter.

Or if you are using a digital SLR and writing very large RAW files to the CF card ...

Even so, 45x is decent.

SanDisk will be slashing prices on their flash memory soon(laying off a few workers as well).
Write speed is important, check your camera specs. I have an EOS 20D, if I recall correctly it writes about 5 MB/sec, depending on the memory card, no need to buy a card faster than that. I usually shoot a high res JPEG + RAW, about 13 MB per shot.

20D is much better than 10D (I have both). But RAW is still slow if you're shooting rapidly. I guess I need to find $4K so I can buy a 1D Mk III! (It can handle a 30-frame burst of RAW -- at 10 fps. Egads!)

I also use the SD Ultra II 1GB, and its moderately fast. With my Olympus E-500 DSLR, it can burst 3 RAW shots before taking a second or two to save them (but thats probably in-camera cache, right?). However, I rarely shoot RAW because my 1GB card will only hold about 60 of them, which is why I'd like to upgrade to an 8GB.

I'm waiting for the Olympus E-3, which should be a pretty kick-a$$ camera for (so is speculated) around $2000. With the Canon system, I guess, you have a much better selection, but there are quite a few nice lenses for the 4/3rds mount, and they seem to be generally cheaper than Canon/Nikon alternatives. BTW, the Live View on the MkIII is something Oly first did on the E330.

For AXIM X51, I use a big sd card. I use my CF slot for the GPS the receiver.

I currently own a Canon 20D, speed really matters. It writes faster. Also, when you transfer file to your computer, faster cards help a lot.
currently own X61S, T42, X31, Macbook Pro Unibody i5

That's right. As noted below, the 1D Mk III ha a rather larger one -- but it's definitely a pro camera.

They are cheaper, and can be a better value. All depends on what kind of photography you want to do. (I doubt I'll be buying a 1D Mk III either, we'll see when the 40D comes out whether I'll upgrade at that point.)

That's cool, I use a 2GB SD card in the x51v for ebooks, games, Today screen photo files I've made (.tsk), weather app, etc. and want the big CF card for movies only. It is truly a nice thought that they included both type card slots.

I have the Kingston 8GB, and it's well worth it (I shoot RAW and bracket shots).
